The Development Squad program aims to assist players in Years 9 - 12 who want to take their club, training and game-day experience to the next level.

The Development squad will not necessarily be selected within year groups; it will look at putting like players together to form the best possible team(s), in order to work together to achieve success in high divisions.

 Some of the benefits of this program are as follows:-

 The teams(s) will be coached by Club appointed experienced Accredited Coach(es)

 Participants would have the opportunity to play with players of similar ability and motivation

 Participants will be able to learn and develop their netball skills to a higher level
 

Trials for the Squad(s) will be held on the following dates:-

· Tuesday 31st January 2023 (5.00.-7.30pm)

· Thursday 2nd February 2023 (5.00-7.30pm)

Both trials will be held at Matthews Netball Centre.

A final decision on how many teams will be formed will be dependent on the number and calibre of players selected. However, we have envisaged that 3 Development Teams will be formed this season, the 3rd of these teams being purely represented by players in Year 9 and 10 (though not limiting the opportunity of any Year 9 or 10 player to make the Development Team 1 or 2).

This 3rd group represents the Club’s longer term aspirations.

If you trial for the development squad and are unsuccessful you will then attend normal grading commencing Saturday 4th February 2023.

As an individual, in considering whether to trial for the development squad(s) you must be prepared to make certain commitments to the team and the Club such as:-

· Attend regular training sessions on the day selected by the coach

· Agree to put in your best effort at training and game day with total commitment to the team

· Promise to listen and learn from the Coach and adhere to standards imposed by the Coach
